2018 Presidential election: Biya adviser declares support for Kamto

A close aid of Cameroon’s President Paul Biya has declared his support for the flag bearer of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement Maurice Kamto for the Presidential election billed for October 7.

Christian Penda Ekoka made the declaration on Thursday morning during a press conference to follow up claims he will not be backing Paul Biya at the up coming election.

The economist and adviser at the Presidency said there had been no secret talks between him and Kamto but he decided to back the leaders of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement for several reasons.

According to him, Kamto is the only candidate who has toured several cities in the country, his political offer, his experience as well as his ability to change things.

“I have seen his will, desire and determination to transform Cameroon,” Penda Ekoka said.

He also announced he had resigned from the ruling CPDM party and taken measures to detach himself from the circles to the party which he has already started with a media campaign.
