2018 Presidential election: NCC to drill journalists on eve of campaigns

Campaigns for the october 7 Presidential election officially open nationwide on Saturday 22 September as candidates as expected to intensify the battle for voters during the two-period.

As political parties are getting set for the campaign, the media on its part is also sharpening tools to provide the best possible covergae for the event.

In the light, the President of ther National Communication Council Peter Essoka has invited journalists for a seminar that holds today in Yaounde to caution journalists on best practices during this crucial period of Cameroon’s political life.

Peter Essoka is expected to grant a press conference at 3pm as part of the launching of the election campaigns. The National Communication Council during previous elections temporarily suspended debate programs on the media that could tilt public opinion. It is not clear if he will take the same measure today.
