2018 Presidential election: Samuel Eto’o pledges support for Biya

Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o has pledged to vote for incumbent Paul Biya as Cameroonians go to the polls on Sunday to elect a new President.

Eto’o Eto’o revealed his choice on Tuesday after an audience with the head of State alongside the President of the Confederation of African Football to discuss Cameroon’s preparations to host next year’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

“We need a leader who can unite the people…we have always been in peace and longed to live together. Undoubtedly, I will vote Paul Biya for all he has done in my life and career,”Samuel Eto’o said.

Samuel Eto’o was accompanying the President of the Confederation of African Football Caf to Yaounde on the nation’s preparations for the competition.

Caf President Ahmad Ahmad assured the body’s support to Cameroon and urged the country to work harder to deliver next year.
