The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon kicked of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations campaign with a two nil victory over Guinea Bissau on Tuesday in Ismaili.
Second half goals from Yaya Banana and Substitute Stephane Bahoken gave Cameroon their first opening win in a major competition since 2006.
Guinea Bissau put up a spirited fight in the first half and frustrated the Indomitable Lions who were guilty of poor finishing.
However, the Lions finally broke the deadlock when Yaya Banana rose high to nod home a corner from Toko Ekambi. Two minutes later, substitute Stephane Bahoken took advantage from some atrocious defending from Guinea Bissau to slot home the second goal.
It was all clean and safe after then as the Lions controlled the game to see off their opponent to seal an opening group win.
