African custom experts are meeting in Yaounde to identify the impediments to intra-African trade.
The meeting organised within the framework of the ninth session of the African Union Sub Committee of Directors General of Customs was open November 16, by Alamine Ousmane Mey, Cameroon’s Minister of Finance.
During the two-day conclave, participants will examine recommendations from the Custom Experts Meeting which began on 13th November 2017. The experts are also expected to review resolutions drafted during the current sitting and present results to the African Union’s Specialised Technical Committee on Trade, Industry and Minerals and to other policy organs of the Union
It should be noted that the meeting is being organised at a time when experts affirm that a full implementation of intra-African trade can boost Africa’s development.
