With a possible entrance of Oyongo Bitolo as midfielder, Cameroon will go on Algeria soil hoping to book a ticket for the Qatar 2022 world cup.
Cameroon will play a crucial and historical match this night against Algeria at Bilda. Rigobert Song, aware of the stakes, told the media at the pre-match press conference “I am aware of what we missed during the home game and we are preparing a conquerors system. During the match, we will observe and hope the team understands the plan. It is a young team and we are undergoing a reconstruction phase”.
And to assure a good performance of the team, former Lions’ captain and forward, Samuel Eto’o Fils brought in some new energy to the team. He even participated in the rehearsal preparations with mainly the team’s different strikers.
Another good news from the team’s squad according to the head coach, will be the availability of captain Aboubakar Vicent who is reported to be ready for today’s game.
Cameroon could play with a 3-5-2 line-up. This implies a defensive line with Nohou Tollo, Ngadeu Ngadjui and Jean Charles Castelletto. It is at the midfield that a new juice can come in with Oyongo Bitolo playing ahead of Tollo as he can put in long balls with his left leg for the different forwards.
Oyongo, it should be recalled, occupies the position of serving attackers from the edge of his wing with his club Montpellier, in the French first Division Ligue 1 championship. He will be accompanied at the midfield by Oum Gouet, Martin Hongla and Choupo-Moting. It is more preferable for Choupo to play at the midst of the game as he is slower when playing on edges compared to position at the midfield. Furthermore, the Bayern attacker has a good observation of the game and will have the ability in this position to provide good balls for the forwards.
Regarding the forwards, we expect Aboubakar Vicent and Toko Ekambi playing ahead of him. However, another school of thought believes Tawamba should begin as his height and weight could be a threat to the Algerians defenders.
