Armel Ghizlain tells police he did not kill girlfriend

Armel Ghizlain, the boy who allegedly killed Adele Elise Ekale, a 24-year old final year student in the department of Linguistics, University of Buea, has said he is innocent.

Ghizlian who was apprehended by Buea police authorities yesterday June 29 around Muea, said his girlfriend, Adele had died of Cardiac arrest.

He said Ekale Adele Elise suddenly developed cardiac arrest when they were together and he, Ghizlain had escaped for fear of being lynched.

Ekale’s lifeless body was discovered in Bakweri Town, in a nearby scrub beside her family residence. She had stepped out of her house on Sunday June 25 to answer a phone call but never returned.

Since her demise, Betchem Armel Ghizlain, her purported lover had taken to social media, recounting their love story and his state of mind.

He revealed that he has made several attempts to take away his own life since the incident.

Armel Ghizlain has been kept under police custody for further investigations while awaiting Ekale’s autopsy report.
