Cameroon:army raid kills five, frees one hostage in Lebialem

Cameroon security forces say they have killed at least five separatist fighters and freed one hostage during an attack carried out on a separatist camp in Tabli, Lebialem Division of the South West Region.

Cameroon’s security forces say the raid was carried out on the night between August 14-15 after being tipped off on the hide outs of the armed men in the area.

The foot operation carried out between 2am and 4am saw the army ‘neutralise’ five separatist fighter, injured three who ran into the bushes, and freed a hostage.

The soldiers also posted pictures of several equipment seized from the camp set up by the armed men like gas bottles, several weapons and amunition seized as well as drugs and food stuff.
