Attack in Cameroon’s far north kills soldier

A soldier was killed on Friday night in the security perimeter of the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR) in Kolofata community (far east of Cameroon) after intrusion into the area by an alleged member of Boko Haram who activated his suicide vest, security sources informed APA.Two soldiers were also wounded in the attack.

Hours earlier, another suicide bomb exploded in Bouvare, a village not far from there, but did not have any other victims. This brings to four the number of suicide bombers in the Kolofata region within 24 hours.

This large crossroads near the border with Nigeria, which has recently become the epicenter of the terrorist movement’s operations, also saw on Friday morning an attempted double attack, which the security forces nipped in the bud.
