Botswana explores Zimbabwean market

In its continued effort to promote Botswana products and explore new markets, the Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC) said Tuesday that it would lead a delegation of 11 companies to participate at the Zimbabwean International Trade Fair that runs from 25-29 April.BITC spokesperson Kutlo Moagi said the aim of the outward trade mission is to introduce Botswana companies and their products to the Zimbabwean market as well as maintain trade relations between the two countries.

“The Zimbabwean markets’ export potential is informed by a market survey previously carried out by BITC to ascertain the demand levels for Botswana products as well as logistics of market access, product support channels and entry strategies and all regulations regarding importation of goods into Zimbabwe,” said Moagi.

She said through the survey, BITC was able to identify that the Zimbabwe market offers many export opportunities for Botswana companies.

The mandate of the state-run BITC is to woo investors into the country as well as explore foreign markets for local companies.
