Burkina Faso’s 20th National Day of Farming slated for May

The 20th edition of the National Day of the Farming (JNP), scheduled from 10 to 13 May, will take stock of its past achievements and look into the future, APA learns from official sources.According to the communiqué issued at the end of the weekly council of ministers’ meeting seen by the African Press Agency, this edition of the JNP will take place in Kaya, capital of the North-Central region, under the theme: “National Peasant’s Day, 20 years of existence: assessment and prospects “.

An annual event that is celebrated in several parts of the country, the JNP provides an opportunity for the various actors to discuss issues related to the development of agriculture in Burkina Faso.

The 19th edition of the National Day of the Farmer was held from 28 to 30 April 2016 in Tenkodogo (in the East) under the theme: “Agriculture and the Fight against Unemployment: developing and supporting agro-pastoral entrepreneurship, fisheries and fauna for the socio-professional integration of young people “.
