Burkina: Sixth Bobo-Dioulasso food fair kicks off Saturday

Stakeholders of the West African region’s food-processing industry are poised to take part in the sixth Bobo-Dioulasso International Fair (FIBO) which opens in the city on Saturday, its organizers say.Planned to hold until April 1st, the fair will be held under the theme: “Food-processing industries and the professionalization of actors for an emerging Africa.”

The event will witness the participation of food-processing actors from the West African Economic and Monetary Community (UEMOA) and member countries of the regional Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

They will include professional organizations, processors, traders, economic operators, public or private technical services and NGOs.

FIBO’s sixth edition marks the tenth anniversary of the biennial agribusiness event.

The fair is tailored to showcase the food-processing industry in West Africa while attempting to transform Bobo-Dioulasso into a hub for business and economic growth.

Pakistan is expected to take part in the fair, which is increasingly becoming a popular flagship event.
