Burkina’s Moneyan wins stage 2 of Benin Tour

Burkina Faso rider Bassirou Moneyan on Thursday defeated Abou Sanogo of Cote d’Ivoire in the second round of the Benin International Cycling Tour, between Dassa and Bohicon (78km).Moneyan won in solo in 1h54mn 10 sec with an average of 40.993km /h, coming 40.9 seconds ahead of Sanogo.
Another Burkinabe, Abdoul Aziz Nikiema (6h 12mn 27 sec) recovered the most coveted yellow jersey of the competition, which was on the shoulders of his fellow countryman Mathias Sorgho, who had the same
time.
Aziz Nikiema and Salifou Yerbanga (Burkina Faso) lead the overall standings with 7 points each.
Team Burkina Faso is still in first place, followed by the DR Congo, Cote d’Ivoire, Togo, Benin, Niger, Congo and the joint Benin-France team.
