Bryan Pemwoya Pangsui, undergraduate student of the ICT University, software developer and techpreneur has come up with TourCMR, a first of its kind bilingual touristic guide application which aims at promoting the touristic potentials of Cameroon, Africa in miniature.

The App was launched on January 10, 2021 and already records 1,500 downloads.

It is out to help Cameroonians and foreigners willing to visit touristic attractions in any part of the country find their way through those sites without any physical guide.

TourCMR contains touristic sites classified under all the different towns in Cameroon with accurate descriptions, cost estimates, and directions on how to get to each touristic site.

It as well helps tourists find hotels and restaurants near each touristic site.

One minute is the time frame needed by anybody who downloads the application to go through the different sites listed in it and subsequently chose where to go according to his/her need.

The App uses social media sign in like Google Sign in, Facebook Sign in, Apple Sign in for IOS as well as the skip Sign in feature which permit users to use the App without signing up.

According to the young software developer who hails from the North West region, the project aims at spreading Cameroon’s Culture and Heritage to over 176 countries both on Android and IOS and increase the number of visitors to the country by 40% before the end of 2022.

Through this App, Bryan Pemwoya Pangsui intends to help in the fight against the deadly Coronavirus pandemic which has killed more than 900 people in Cameroon.

The App has a push notification feature which enables him and his team to send out important information on the pandemic to all users with two clicks.

The App will equally provide a statistical data of all its users, especially foreign tourists which could help a great deal at the national level.

The young Bryan has announced that the Minister of State, Minister of Tourism and Leisure, Bello Bouba Maigari has endorsed the App and works are underway for it to become the official digital travel guide for Cameroon.
