Cameroon: About 40,000 already immunized against COVID-19

39,971 people have so far been vaccinated against the deadly Coronavirus pandemic in Cameroon since the launch of the national immunization campaign about four weeks ago.

According to statistics revealed by the Minister of Public Health, Dr Malachie Manaouda this Friday May 7 in a tweet, 23,882 were administered the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine meanwhile 16,089 took the British AstraZeneca.

These figures to the Health boss are satisfactory and the progress shows that many are receptive to the vaccines.

He has however encouraged those that are still hesitating to go in for the vaccines for a collective protection against the deadly Coronavirus pandemic.

In the meantime, the country keeps recording new cases, as at Thursday May 6, it counted 74 946 infections, out of which 70 497 have recovered, 1 152 have unfortunately died making a total of 3 297 active cases.
