Cameroon: absentee state counsel risks dismissal

The Deputy State Counsel of the Legal Department Fundong in the Boyo Division of the North West region risks losing his job after staying away for months without any justifications.

In a service note signed by the Attorney General of the North West Court of Appeal says the Magistrate Onana Bengono Alain Berland is been away from his duty post since the 25 June.

He has been called upon to report to his duty station latest Wednesday 12 September 2018 or face severe disciplinary sanctions, the Attorney General warned.

This is just one of many civil servants who have abandoned their duty stations due to the ongoing crisis in the North West and South West regions of the country.

Many civil servants have been targeted for kidnap by separatist fighters in both regions prompting many to desert their duty posts for safer towns
