Cameroonian striker Nchout Njoya Ajara announced herself in Spain at the weekend with a double as her new side Atletico Madrid thrashed Levante three nil to lift the Spanish Super Cup.
After watching from the bench as Atletico Madrid edged Barcelona on penalities during the semi final, head coach José Sanchez Vera threw in the striker from the start during last Saturday’s final.
It took the 28-year old striker just 22 minutes to break her duck in Spain, after she was set up beautifully by Brazillian team mate Ludmilla, before racing through on goal and slotting past the Levante goalkeeper.
Her goal came just four minutes after she had set up Deyna Castellanos to give the Rojiblancos a deserved lead.
Ajara then rounded off a first half blitz ten minutes to half time after latching on to a through ball from Silva A.
She could however not complete her hat trick in the second half as Levante looked to limit the damage while Atletico pressed for more. After a booking in the 69 minute, Ajara made way for Nigerian forward Ajibade Rasheedadt.
