Cameroon: Ambazonia commander killed in Kumbo

A kingpin separatist fighter in Kumbo, Bui division of the North West region was at the weekend killed by Cameroon security forces, sources have confirmed.

The Ambazonia commander was killed in fighting around the Tobin Mbveh stretch of the road as he and his boys were attempting to gorge the road before soldiers arrived the scene, sources said.

This led to an exchange of fire as the soldiers succeded to bring down the ‘commander’ while at least five of the separatists were injured and several others escaped into the bushes.

Several roads in Kumbo leading to Bamenda have been blocked at with trees and objects by separatist fighters as fighting intensifies in the area.

Most journies are done on foot in the area and even the Bishop of Kumbo Mgr. George Nkuo had to journey on foot to Nkar on a pastoral mission at the weekend.
