The residence of the Regional Delegate for Secondary Education for the South West Region Hannah Etonde Mbua was attacked last night by suspected armed separatist fighters who set her vehicle ablaze, sources have confimed.
Reports say the men launched the attacks just after midnight at the Delegate’s residence in Soppo, a neighbourhood in Buea setting her service car ablaze before taking off.
The gunmen are said to have fired shots in the air sending all family members on the floor before committing their act and taking off.
Security forces arrived the scene early on Monday morning to take stock of the damage as investigations have been opened to track down the perpetrators.
Buea remains on high security alert this morning with soldiers stationed at strategic areas and buildings of the town, sources have said.
