Cameroon: at least five persons crushed by truck in Douala

At least five persons are reported to have died on Saturday in Douala when a heavy duty truck lost control before sweeping the victims on its way.

The incident occured on Saturday November 17 at the Village neighbourhood in the outskirts of Douala causing heavy traffic on the road that serves as a way out to Yaounde.

Eye witnesses say the truck was attempting to dodge a woman crossing the road when it wheeled of th road killing five persons beside the road including a woman and her daughter who were on a bike.

Several persons sustained severe injuries and ere immediately rushed to nearby health centres as security forces arrived on the scene in an attempt to restore order.
