At least two civilians were shot dead on Sunday in Bomaka, a neighbourhood in Buea, South West region of Cameroon as violence continues to escalate in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon.

Sources say the young men were shot in Buea by security forces on patrol who suspected them of being Ambazonia fighters.

Residents of Bomaka say a transport said gunshots were heard for over thirty minutes as they all went indoors only to return later and discover two corpses lying on the road while passsengers from the bus that had been stopped earlier had all ran away for safety.

Violence and the rate of deaths have increased in the past days since the Prime Minister, Head of Government rounded off his trip in the North West and South West regions to preach dialogue to the populations as a solution out of the crisis.
