Retired magistrate Ayah Paul Abine and his family were on Wednesday evening attacked by unidentified gunmen at their residence by unidentified gunmen, sources have confirmed.
The incident occured just after 7pm as gunmen broke into the gate before they started opening fire forcing all to lie down for safety.
The men are said to have torn Ayah Paul’s dresses before knocking him down but the retired magistrate succeeded to take refuge at a corner of his residence.
Alerted, neighbours immediately called the army who reacted promptly by arriving the scene but the armed men had taken off.
A mixed team of security officers also arrived the scene where they have opened investigations to determine the perpetrators of the act.
