Cameroon have won the Under 17 Africa Cup of Nation after defeating Guinea in the final on Sunday 5-3 on post match penalties.
Both sides played to a goalless draw in Dar es Salam on Sunday afternoon before the match went to direct penalties with Cameroon converting all their five penalties as Guinea substitute Mohamed Youssouf had his penalty saved by goalkeeper Manfred Ekoi. Cameroon lift the trophy for the first time since 2003.
The young lions arrive the country on Monday at 11 a.m and will tourthe nation’s capital Yaounde with the trophy to commune with their fans.
The Head of State Paul Biya led tributes to the young lions with a message on his Facebook page while the Minister of Sports and Physical Education Narcisse Mouelle Kombi who was in Tanzania with the team equally showered praises on the young lions
