Several commercial motorbikes and a vehicle were set ablaze in Bamenda North West region of Cameroon on Thursday April 25 in retaliation to the alleged beheading of a soldier,sources say.
This comes after a human head allegedly that of a soldier was dropped at the Hospital Roundabout neighbourhood on Thursday morning.
This forced locals to remain indoors as soldiers stormed the scene firing shots in the air while combing the area in search of armed separatist fighters.
An amateur video allegedly shot in Bamenda on Thursday morning has been making rounds on social media showing men in uniforms attempting to break into stores to loot property after scaring locals with gunshots to go indoors.
Relative calm returned to parts of the city on Thursday evening as the town was forced to sleep early after the turn of events.
