The President of the Confederation of African Football Ahmad, has congratulated Paul Biya after he was proclaimed winner of the October 7 Presidential election by the Constitutional Council.
In a letter signed by Ahmad on Thursday October 25, Ahmad congratulated Paul Biya as he implored God’s guidance on the 85-year old who is about to start a new seven-year mandate.
According to Ahmad, Paul Biya’s re-electionshows Cameroonians have renewed their confidence on the Etoudi stalwart so he could legitimately continue and accomplish his projects.
It should be recalled that the Caf boss accompanied by Samuel Eto’o was in Yaounde during the campaign period where he met the Head of State to discusss Cameroon’s preparations to host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
At the end of the meeting, the Caf boss said the body did not plan to strip Cameroon off the hosting rights of the Afcon while Samuel Eto’o on his part pledged his support for Paul Biya at the Presidential election.
