Cameroon: Cardinal Tumi’s funeral to take place from April 19 to 20 in Douala

The Archbishop of the Douala Metropolitan Archdiocese, Mgr Samuel Kleda has announced that the funeral of His Eminence Christian Cardinal Tumi will take place from the 19th to the 20th of April 2021 in Douala.

The announcement is contained in a release issued by the Secretary Chancellor at the Douala Archdiocese Abbe Timothé Ouwe.

The release states that details of the funeral will be communicated later.

In the meantime, Christians have been called upon to keep praying for the peaceful repos of his soul.

Christian Cardinal Tumi died early Saturday April 3 in Douala aged 91, after suffering from a brief illness.

He was Cameroon’s first and lone Cardinal to date.

Tributes keep pouring in for the man who was considered as an apostle of peace and justice, who could give everything to see the crisis in the two English speaking regions come to an end.
