Group D matches of the ongoing African Nations Championship (CHAN) take place tomorrow at the Limbe Omnisport stadium.
The first fixture of day will be an East African derby pitting Zambia against Tanzania at 5pm. The Taifa of Tanzania are eying a good start of competition after being absent in the competition since its debut in 2009 when they finished 5th. In Limbe since the start of the week, the players have held some training sessions.
The Chipolopolo of Zambia on their part participated in the Pre- CHAN competition in Yaounde. The Zambian side beat the Intermediate Lions.
In the second match, Namibia quarterfinalists in 2018 play Guinea. The Namibian side had a difficult preparation as 11 of their players tested positive to COVID-19 and so their presence at the CHAN was threatened.
This hindered their tactical preparation. The team is fine tuning their preparation in Cameroon.
The Coach of Namibia, Bobby Samaria however trust they have what it takes to pass the group stages and it dates by a victory against Guinea tomorrow.
As prescribed by CAF, the teams took their COVID-19 tests yesterday to ensure no player is positive to the pandemic.
A press conference for the group D teams is scheduled today at the Limbe Omnisport stadium before each team has its last training session for tomorrow’s match.
