Cimencam, a company specialized in the production of construction materials has signed a partnership agreement with renowned banking institution, Afriland First Bank to boost the sale of cement via its online platform MyCimencam and improve customer experience by reducing logistics inherent in the purchase of cement.

The agreement was signed Wednesday April 14 at the headquarters of Cimencam in Cameroon’s economic capital, Douala.

Signing on behalf of Cimencam was its General Manager, Benoit Galichet and on behalf of Afriland First Bank, Herve Ayissi, Retail Banking Director.

The agreement makes it possible for direct consumers and distributors of Cimencam products to order cement via the company’s online sales platform, MyCimencam, pay through Afriland First Bank, AFB bank transfer platform in five minutes and be delivered the goods instantly wherever they find themselves in Cameroon.

According to Cimencam’s General Manager, Benoit Galichet, the AFB bank transfer payment platform will enable Cimencam’s customers to save time and limit trips to bank branches to pay for their purchases and orders.

Speaking to the press after the signing of the partnership agreement, Benoit Galichet said the choice of Afriland First Bank as commercial partner was motivated by the banking institution’s position as leader in the domain of finance in Cameroon.

He indicated that among other objectives, the company aims to have 100% of its orders done via the platform before the end of the year 2021 and replace the cheque.

Speaking on behalf of Afriland First Bank Cameroon Chief Executive Officer, the Retail Banking Director, Hervé Ayissi said the partnership with Cimencam falls in line with the bank’s digital transformation projects which aim at making customers autonomous in their transactions.

“This partnership will enable our customers to order cement from their homes without having to go to the bank for any transaction. Taking into consideration the present health context which wants us to limit as much as possible physical contact, I think the partnership is an ideal…” Hervé Ayissi told the press.

As far as security around transactions are concerned, Hervé said it took them about two years to come up with the platform and as such everything has been put in place to ensure they are safe.
