Circulation has been paralysed on the National road N°1, between Ngaoundere and Garoua following the collapse of part of the road leading to the former railway station in Ngaoundere, in the Adamawa region of Cameroon.

Reports say the collapsed portion began deteriorating after developing a pot hole that gradually gave way to the collapse of the road. This situation has reportedly accounted for slow circulation on that part the National road N°1.

In order to address the issue, the Senior Divisional Officer of the Mvina Division, Luc Ndongo went to the field where in he reportedly prescribed emergency measures for traffic to be restored as soon as possible.

According to reports, he prescribed the creation of a deviation that will ease circulation while waiting for the complete rehabilitation of the road.

The road has been undergoing serious refurbishing for years now and some reports say the delay in construction and rehabilitation could have been the cause of this collapse.
