Cameroon: Defence boss to represent Biya at funeral ceremony of Chadian President

The Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo will be representing President Paul Biya at the official funeral ceremony of late Chadian President, Idriss Deby Itno slated for tomorrow Friday April 23 in Ndjamena.

Ahead of tomorrow’s funeral ceremony expected to pool over ten Head of States including French President Emmanuel Macron and other Government members, President Biya’s representative arrived the Chadian capital city Ndjamena this Thursday afternoon.

He is leading a delegation made up of Senior military officials.

The funeral ceremony of the late Chadian President and field marshal Idriss Deby will take place in Ndjamena and he will be buried in his native Amdjaras, in the Eastern Ennedi province.

He died Tuesday April 20 from injuries sustained at the battlefront over the weekend.

Chad is currently observing a 14-national mourning day in honor of its late President.
