Cameroon: detained Ambazonia leaders expected in court today

Cameroon’s detained separatist leaders are expected to appear before the Mfoundi High Court this morning at 10a.m for Habeas Corpus hearing.

The appeal hearing that was adjourned last month because the court failed to produce the detainees is finally expected to go on today with confirmation from security forces that Julius Ayuk Tabe and others will be brought to court.

According to sources the detained Ambazonia leaders were finally granted access to their lawyers on Wednesday October 31 but only three out of the six lawyers present were permitted to see them for about 25 minutes.

It was agreed at the Gendarmerie headquarters yesterday that the Ambazonia leaders be brought in court very early before 8 to avoid any crowd that may gather to see them.

However, close family members already gathered in court this morning say they are yet to see them. But a source at the gendarmerie headquarters confirm they will be brought to court.
