Cameroon: Detained Ambazonia leaders return to court amidst hunger strike

The ten detained leaders of the Ambazonia separatist movement are expected to return to court today where their case against the state of Cameroon resumes.

The detained separatist leaders return to court as they continue with hunger strike action which they kicked off last week to request the whereabouts of other Anglophone detainees extracted from the Kondenguin Central Prison over a week ago following protests.

In a letter addressed to the Minister of Justice, the detained separatist leaders say they will only end their strike when the government of Cameroon must have shown proof of life of the Anglophones extracted from the Kondengui prison.

However, their lawyers revealed at the weekend they had seen some of the detainees at the gendarmerie headquarters but say they want to see all the detainees returned to their cells in Kondengui.
