Cameroon: detained Ambazonia leaders transferred to Kondengui

Cameroon’s detained separatist leaders who have been held at the gendarmerie headquarters for the past ten months have been transferred to the Kondengui Maximum security prison, sources have confirmed.

Julius Ayuk Tabe and nine others were reportedly brought before the State Prosecutor at the Military tribunal in Yaounde on Thursday before they were transferred to Kondengui, sources said.

Their transfercomes just barely a week after the Mfoundi Appeal Court in Yaounde rejectted a Habeas corpus plea filed by their lawyers to immediately release them.

Their lawyers have since revealed they will file another appeal at the Supreme Court as they continue to maintain their clients were illegally extradited to Cameroon.

The transfer of the Ambazonia leaders to Kondengui could signal the imminent start of their trial at the Yaounde military tribunal.
