Cameroon: Disarmament Coordinator tasked to produce results


Fai Yengo Francis, newly appointed Coordinator of the National Coordinator of the Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration committee, has been tasked to use his experience and work with collaborators and the administration to produce the expected results.

The charge was made by Cameroon’s Prime Minister – Head of Government, Philemon Yang as he officially installed the Coordinator into his function during a solemn ceremony at the conference hall of the Prime Minister’s office.

Fai Yengo Francis was among other things tasked to work towards disarming repentant fighters of Boko Haram and armed groups in the North West and South West regions, providing psycho-social education and vocational training to permit the ex fighters engage in income generating activities and destroy weapons and munitions given up by the ex fighters.

Accepting the challenge, the newly installed coordinator said he has already been to the field and he will continue on the field in order to successfully attain the goals assigned him by the Head of State.
