Dr Diana Mfondoum, promoter and Chief executive officer of The Moringa Company has won the 2019 Pierre Castel Prize in Cameroon, succeeding to Flavien Kouatcha.
According to reports, Dr Diana Mfondoum enticed the jury members last September 2, 2019 at the Headquarters of the Pierre Castel Fund in Bordeaux, France with her project “Production and marketing of moringa dry leaves supplements”.
She has created “Moringa Oleifera Lam”, an herbal tea made with Moringa which she tested the effects of the tea on AIDS and malnourished patients.
The prize which will be awarded on November 22, 2019 in Abidjan Cote D’Ivoire during the International agriculture and animal resources fair SARA, comes with a donation of XAF10 million, coaching and support from the sponsor Jonathan Nyemb.
Initiated by the endowment fund Pierre Castel-Agir pour l’Afrique, Pierre Castel Prize supports and provides financial assistance to projects implemented by young African entrepreneurs in the agricultural, agribusiness, and agro-resource sectors.
