Cameroon: Elephant kills forest guard in Buea

The mortal remains of a man have been retrieved from the forests up on Mount Cameroon after he was brutally killed by an elephant.

Reports say, the Henri Aymeric Tchawou Nguenkou, who was an Assistant Forest Technician at the Mount Cameroon National Park, Buea was attacked while on patrol on the night of Sunday breaking Monday, March 29 by a female elephant that had just given birth.

The mortal remains were only discovered late on Tuesday, March 30 and deposited at the mortuary of the Buea Regional Hospital.

The death comes just few days after traditional rituals were performed by the “Malae dance group” last weekend to stop elephants from destroying crops and property especially along the foot of thee mountain.
