The European Union has offered material support to the Yarha Association to boost cinematographic production and postproduction.
The equipment comprising high quality camera, computers, and microphones, among others were handed over to Yarha’s General Supervisor, Sylvie Nwet, last April 15 in Yaounde.
Speaking while handing over the equipment, Sebastien Bergeon, Chargé des Affairs at the European Union indicated that Yarha Festival is one of the rare initiatives supported by the organization.
‘’We did this because we believe this project is designed to support local cultural dynamics carried out by young people, is one of the most promoting in terms of the development of the 7th art in the Cameroon…’’ Sebastian said.
On its part, Yarha through its General Coordinator expressed gratitude for the support, indicating it will help a great deal in the production of the Association’s International first movie festival.
The Yarha festival which last for a week is a production of the YARA Association. Created in 2013, the international week is a professional platform where directors, actors and producers from all over the world present their first work (1st and 2nd feature films) to the Cameroonian public.
