Cameroon: Fon of Oku released

Oku Fon(in blue) has been released after spending days in captivity

The traditional ruler of Oku, Bui Division of the North West Region His Majesty, Sentieh II Martin Yosimbom who was kidnapped last week by armed men has been released, sources have confirmed.

The circumstances surrounding his release have however not been revealed.

The Fon was kidnapped over ten days ago by the armed men as he was tricked from his palace before being taken to an unknown destination by the armed men.

A note earlier appeared this week in which the armed men posed a set of conditions to the Prime Minister and elites of Oku before the Fon is released.

Amongst some of the conditions posed, the kidnappers are demanding the withdrawal of the military from Oku, the Fon should apologise to the people for his declarations and call for a reconciliatory meeting and the Prime Minister  should “act fast”.
