Cameroon gets new United Nations coordinator

Cameroon now has a new coordinator to oversee the United Nations uoutfits in the country. Allegria Maria Del Pilar Baiochi, an Italian was received on July 18, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Le Jeune Mbella Mbella.

While receiving Allegria Maria Del Pilar Baiochi’s introduction letter, Minister Le Jeune Mbella stressed that the priorities of the United Nations in Cameroon is the fight against insecurity, the promotion of development, support to the building sites of democracy among others.

For her part, the new coordinator said she is ready to work with all the development stakeholders in Cameroon. Allegria Maria Del Pilar Baiochi is a mother of two and previously served at the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), a branch of the United Nations Secretariat established in December 1991 by the UN General Assembly to strengthen the United Nations response to crises and natural disasters.

Allegria Maria Del Pilar Baiochi will be at the head of the United Nations system and head of UNDP Cameroon
