Fecafoot to interview potential Lions’ coaches in France

A team from the Normalisation Committee of the Cameroon Football Federation led by Njomo Kevin left the country on Thursday for Paris in France where they will hold interviews with a number of shortlisted candidates for the Indomitable Lions’ position.

Over 77 coaches have applied for the Indomitable Lions’ job with sources at the Cameroon Football Federation indicating five names have already been shortlisted for this position.

It is in a bid to meet all these coaches in a fixed location that a team was dispatched to Paris to conduct interviews with the shortlieted coaches throughout the weekend, the source added.

The team is expected to transmit its report to the appropriate quarters once it returns from the mission for a final selection of the best candidate. The process could last for two weeks and even a month longer but it is certain Alexandre Belinga will still be in temporary charge when Cameroon take on Burkina Faso on Sunday May 27 in an international friendly.

Alexandre Belinga was placed intemporary charge during the last international break, guiding Cameron to a 3-1 win over Kuwait before urging football authorities to speed up their search for a permanent coach for the team.

Belinga, former assistant coach of the team is in his second spell as interim coach has distanced himself taking the job on a permanent basis as he took a swipe at Fecafoot officials for their approach in conducting the search for a new coach.
