Cameroon: Gov’t bans transportation of rods into Lebialem

The transportation of iron rods into the Lebialem Division of the South West region has been banned, the Senior Divisional Officer has said.

The Senior Divisional Officer of the Lebialem Mr Etta Mbokaya Ashu signed a communiqué recently to ban the transportation of iron rods as he said the move is to curb insecurity in the division.

Defence and Security forces are charged with the strict implementation of the measure, the Senior Divisional Officer said.

The move from the SDO comes days after soldiers discovered a local plant for the fabrication of local weapons reportedly used by separatist fighters to engage in battles with soldiers.
