Cameroon: Gov’t disburses FCFA 58 Billion to fight COVID-19

Cameron’s Minister of Public Health, Dr Malachie Manaouda has revealed that the Government has disbursed the sum of FCFA 58 billion to fight the Coronavirus Pandemic that has so far claimed twenty-two victims in the country with cases almost getting to a thousand.

The Health boss made the revelation yesterday at the National Assembly while briefing Members of Parliament on the evolution of the Coronavirus in the country.

Talking about Cameroon’s response to the virus on front, Minister Manaouda said about eighteen thousand, nine hundred tests had been rolled out in the country.

He further disclosed that nevertheless, three hundred thousand tests and one hundred respirators have been ordered and they are expected tomorrow Saturday April 18 from a special cargo flight.

At the time Dr Malachie was speaking to the MPs, Cameroon’s Coronavirus cases stood at nine hundred and twenty-two, but in the evening, the cases climbed up to nine hundred and ninety-six.

As at this Friday morning, the country has confirmed one hundred and sixty-eight treated cases and twenty-two deaths.
