Cameroon: Gov’t Ministers take second doses of COVID-19 vaccine

Ministers in Cameroon including the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute have been administered the second dose of anti-COVID-19 vaccine to complete their immunization process launched about a month ago.


They received the doses this Wednesday May 12 at the Star Building in Yaounde, during the second phase of the special vaccination campaign organized for members of Government and members of the Diplomatic corps.

The vaccination exercise was supervised by the Minister of Public Health, Dr Malachie Manaouda.

Speaking to the press after the immunization process, the Health boss indicated that as at this Wednesday May 12, some 45,000 doses of the Sinopharm and Astrazeneca vaccines have so far been administered to Cameroonians nationwide in the various vaccination centres.

He added that the immunization campaign is well on course and efforts will be stepped up to encourage Cameroonians not to shy away from the vaccines.

Dr Malachie Manaouda ended by calling on Cameroonian to keep respecting anti-COVID-19 barrier measures even if they have been vaccinated so as to put an end to the reign of the deadly virus in Cameroon.
