United Express, a Cameroon based inter-urban bus travel agency, has confirmed the death of one of its hostesses in an accident.
Reports say, the victim, whose only name we got as Clotine, was the stewardess on board the Bus with registration number,CE 186 IK which left Yaounde at 7:00pm for Douala.
According to Facebook post on the United Express page, the accident occurred at about 10:30pm after the Toll gate in Edea, Sanaga Maritime Division.
The Facebook message, made shortly after the incident, read;
“THE UNITED EXPRESS AGENCY, ANNOUNCES, ONE OF HIS BUS THAT TOOK OFF FROM YAOUNDE AT 7 PM TO DOUALA, HAD AN ACCIDENT AT 10:30 PM BEFORE EDEA’S TOLLGATE. ONE PERSONEL LOST HIS LIFE AND MANY OTHERS INJURED, THE AGENCY ADDRESSES HIS CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY
SECURITY REMAINS OUR PRIORITY”.
Getting whip of the accident, Journalducameroun.com, visited the agency headquarters at Fouda in Yaounde. The officials who spoke to us refuted the accident claims. Most of them who prefer anonymity, said the Facebook post was put by a criminal who has already been arrested. All efforts to speak to agency’s head wasn’t successful.
