Cameroon: Ibrahim El Rachidine is new Lamido of Garoua

Ibrahim El Rachidine Yerima Souleymanou, grand son of Lamido Abdoulaye is the new Lamido of Garoua in the North region of Cameroon.


The 39-year-old was elected Monday May 10 with seven out of ten votes from a college of notables to replace Alim Garga Hayatou who died weeks ago after suffering from illness.

Ibrahim El Rachidine beat six contenders, including Issa Hayatou, former President of the Confederation of African Football.
