Cameroon: IDPs from SW Region receive presidential gifts

Internally Displaced Persons in the outh West Region have received relief materials donated by the Head of State Paul Biya and his wife Chantal.

The distribution exercise took place at the esplanade of the Buea Council on Tuesday December 31, 2019.

The exercise was supervised by the Governor of the South West Region Bernard Okalia Bilai as the IDPs received relief items such as mattresses, blankets,sanitary kits, soap, some food items and financial aid to facilitate their transition into the year 2020.

One of the recipients Asemchop John, said the relief items were highly welcome and will go a long way to help  especially some of them who are physically challenged.

On his part, the Divisional Officer of Buea, Abba Abdouraman urged the beneficiaries to judiciouly use the items and reassured them of the concern of the presidential couple to their plight.

‘‘The Head of ,State during the end of 2019 thought these gifts will be of great significance to the populationespecially those in need.  I know these Internally Displaced Personsare very grateful because the gifts are timely’’ the D.O said.

Internally Diplaced Persons from Tiko, Muyuka and other parts of the Region equally received relief material in Limbe the same day.
