Cameroon: IDPs to receive humanitarian assistance in Buea

Internally displaced persons residing in Buea, South West region of Cameroon would receive humanitarian support next week, the Mayor of Buea Patrick Ekema Esunge has said.

The internally displaced persons will receive the support, mainly basic commodities offered them by the government, on Tuesday November 6.

To that effect, the Mayor of Buea in a communiqué called on potential beneficiaries to get themselves registered at the council ahead of the distribution exercise.

The United Nations estimates that close to 400.000 peersons are internally displaced as a result of the crisis in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon which has also forced several persons to cross over in Nigeria as refugees.
