Cameroon: Kidnapped Bamenda doctors released

The two medical doctors who were kidnapped in Bamenda on Wednesday have been released, sources have confirmed.

They were released late on Thursday Huly 18 after spending 24 hours in captivity but it is not clear if a ransom was paid for their release.

Doctor Dobgima Walters Pisoh, a Gynecologist, and wife, Doctor Fotso Sandrine, a General Practitioner at the Bamenda Regional Hospital were abducted early on Wednesday at their residence at the Nchoubou neighbourhood in Bamenda by unidentified gunmen.

No group claimed responsibility for the act as cases of abductions continue to increase in Bamenda. Still on Thursday, the Secretary General of the North West Lawyers Association was released after spending 24 hours in captivity.
