Cameroon: Kidnapped school proprietor released

Mubang Michael was tortured by his kidnappers

The proprietor of the Saint Frederick Comprehensive High School Bamenda who was kidnapped on Tuesday has beeen released, sources have confirrmed.

Mubang Michael was released on the same night he was abducted but was tortured by his kidnappers before letting him go, sources said.

He has been receiving medical attention in hospital since his release after he sustained injuries while he was breifly held in captivity.

Circumstances leading to his release are not clear but sources say a heavy ransom was paid before he was released the same day.
