Cameroon: Marc Vivien Foe, sixteen years on!

It has been sixteen year since Cameroon lost one of its most iconic midfieders in Marc Vivien Foe during the Confederations Cup at the Stade Gerland in France.

The towering midfielder collapsed and died during Cameroon’s semi final clash  against Colombia at the 2003 Confederations Cup in France.

The team did not only loose a valuable asset but the nation wept for its son as the football world came to a standstill. Marc Vivien Foe went too soon with several project which he had started.

Despite several promises at his funeral, those projects, especially the Marc Vivien Foe Sports Complex have been abandoned as the family struggles to hold on together.
